The design philosophy for this residence is rooted in creating a harmonious indoor-outdoor living experience. Wecselman, having designed the interiors of two previous homes for this client, aimed to craft a spacious yet refined environment that promotes family togetherness while showcasing the client’s love for contemporary art and design. Upon entering the home, guests are greeted by a stunning foyer featuring a Rob Lorenson sculpture from Sponder Gallery and a Reinier Bosch Flow Black console. The main living area is anchored by a round Tai Ping area rug, with Wittman sofas in cedar and a striking deep purple side chair by Holly Hunt, creating a dynamic setting highlighted by Jules Olitski's artwork. The space is crowned by an Aparratus chandelier, offering unobstructed views of the surrounding landscape, where sculptures like the Tribu Sun lounger and Barcelona design Dalilips are thoughtfully placed in the outdoor areas.
Wecselman’s attention to detail extends throughout the home, particularly in spaces designed for the family’s younger members. The children’s wing is a haven of creativity, with custom Lego-inspired millwork in the boy’s bedroom and a whimsical bunny bed in the girl’s room. The playroom, adorned with graffiti wallpaper and chairs that pay homage to Keith Haring, reflects the client’s passion for contemporary art. The custom kitchen by Eggersmann is a chef’s dream, while the dual dining area is perfect for family gatherings and entertaining. The residence also boasts a more formal second family room with a darker palette, as well as a collector’s wine cellar, a pool table illuminated by a skylight, and a gem-like powder room with an Artelinea sink in onyx.
